I love to WIN! It aint to hard being this CUTE!!

Having nerds for parents especially my mother it has been an interesting life so far. During my short time in this world my parents have entered me into two costume contests. Both of which I won with pretty stiff competition. Na, I have to say that! I won in a land slide. The first contest was at a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book release party. I was only six months old and with a great desire to do something creative my mother dressed me as a Mandrake. Ya I am going to love this picture when I am 16. The grand prize was a gift card that my parents turned around and used on the book. Ya I felt used. It wasn't even something that I could enjoy.

Lucky for them I have a good sense of humor and took it all in stride. They were dressed up too but compared to me no one even noticed. The second contest was much more recent, a costume contest at a college soccer match. You were supposed to dress up as a lumberjack or something like that. This time I was the only one out of the three of us that got dressed up, which I didn't think was very fair. And to top it all off there was this big puppet man there with a giant axe, that kept wanting to get close to me. Ya right! I am not as young as I look. Hello, STRANGER!!! So he didn't make me feel very comfortable. I did my best but in the end I was pretty upset. I started to feel better when the whole crowd of onlookers voted me the best lumberjack of them all but do they really need to be that loud. I mean, I know I am cute but really. What can you expect from a bunch of college students. GOT TO LOVE THEM ANYWAY!

Oh, ya I won two tickets to the Grand Canyon Railway. Probably wont' be able to use them either, what ever they are. So enjoy parents! And stay tooned for the next silly thing they or shall I say my Mother dresses me up as.

Oh, on a side note a week after this event my parents took me down town. I happened to have my last binky with me and some where along the way it fell out of the stroller. So from that point on I have been binkyless. life is so tough. Good thing I still have my milk!

Hair or no Hair that is the Question!

So if you have been an experienced reader on this blog you will know that I did attempt to cut the lil'guy's hair a few months ago with disastrous results. Since that time the Hubby didn't want to get his hair cut. This is not only due to my last attempt but I am certain that it did effect the Hubby's thought process. One day I was putting a ponytail in my hair and the lil'guy wanted to play too. So as a good mother (I know that can be disputed) I obliged him and thus we have the pictures below. Yes he is a boy but could make a rather cute little girl.

Needless to say when the Hubby saw these pictures he wasn't ecstatic but I did marry a man with a sense of humor and he did laugh. I was just trying to prove a point about how long this lil'guy's hair had gotten. He was obviously in need of a hair cute. So not long after this event we took a trip to the valley to see my second sister and her family. My brother in-law was gracious enough to give me a lesson in cutting hair, one of his many talents. (This lesson was on the Hubby FYI) The next day, when the men were away, I looked at my sister and said, " do I dare!" She said' "YES!" So the following pictures will tell quite a story. It had been so long since his last hair cute that Lil'guy had a hard time but with my sister's help I was able to cut his hair.

BEFORE!! Do you think he needed to be cut?

A WARNING: the scenes you are about to view are sensitive in nature and may cause unconscious AWE's and unexpected laughter. View at your own risk.

After: I had tried to trim the top of his hair with scissors but he was so upset that I didn't dare and ended up using the longest attachment, a 7 to finish the top. It ended up a lot shorter than I wanted but he looked a lot better.

night time dreams

So the time has come to move from a baby's crib to a big boy bed. We were going to wait till his second birthday but some friends of ours offered us a free toddler bed. So out goes the crib, hello bed. Lil'guy loves it! These are pictures of his first night in the bed. AHWWW how sweet.

He transitioned very well. He loves that he can get in and out of bed with ease. Now I just need to work with him on staying in bed when it is time for his afternoon nap. We go through an hour routine of silliness but in the end sleep always wins. I am up for suggestions if anyone would like to share mommy tips.
