Boston you are the only ONE!

Hubby and I have been talking about going away to Boston for years. We thought that 7 1/2 years of marriage was the time to bask ourselves in the beautiful world of Red Sox baseball and the great history of our nation. With Little Guy having the time of his life at Nana and Papa's we began our much anticipated week of adventure. We rented a short term apartment in the Boston area. It had a lot of "personality" and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Our first adventure was a drive to New York City from Boston for a Red Sox game at the new Yankee Stadium. The trip up was so beautiful yet a little rainy. The game was delayed for rain for an hour so we took the time to go through the Yankee Memorial Park. Hey we aren't Yankee fans but we do appreciate talent.

Our second Game was at the infamous Fenway Park. Still rainy but sooooo wonderful. We took a tour of the park before the game. Worth every penny. Great access, great stories.

Our third and final game, we decided to take the bating practice tour. We were able to go down on the field. Yeah Hubby could hardly contain his joy. Then we watched bating practice from the Green Monster. This last game we sat a couple of rows behind the Red Sox dugout. We decided it was the only way to watch a game. OH and the Sox won all three games we went to. Beautiful!

A quick trip to Salem, which is very odd and we do not plan to return during future trips. We hit the Freedom Trail and what a wonderful time we had. The USS Constitution was completely enlightening and another great tour. Bunker Hill Monument was a short walk away and didn't disappoint.

Boston offers so many things to see that we found ourselves trying to get them all in during the little time we had left.

Hubby and I had such an amazing time together. It is safe to say that it won't take another 7 1/2 years to get back to Boston.

Oh, now I want to go there DESPERATELY!! Boston is very rainy, but seems a minor inconvenience compared to all there is to see and do.....so rich in history and culture and BASEBALL!!!
Although, nana and papa had a blast with Little Guy!!! Chasing Kitty Moe, fishing, chasing Moe, McDonald's with papa (their bonding "thing"), chasing Moe, watching cartoons with Papa, chasing Moe, going for walks and shopping with nana, chasing Moe. Is it any wonder he crashed early at night and woke late in the morning!
Thanks for sharing your incredible experience. I'm so glad you guys took the opportunity to run away and play; especially at the place Jason has wanted to go since he was a boy.....dreams do come true....and it happened to you!! And no one deserves it more....Phil and I deserve it as much, though!
xoxo
